Life when credits run out
I’ve had probably one of the laziest weekends. I slept peacefully and read about coffee.
Anyway, exciting news is we have an AI challenge in our community next week. It’s a one-week sprint where marketers pick one problem and solve it with AI.
We have kickoff calls, demo day, coworking sessions, success metrics, and so on. I will email you the details in a day or two.
How I added 10 files to improve my AI writing system
There are only a few things I write manually now. This newsletter, my Twitter/X, Reddit, and essays on my personal blog.
In all other channels and formats, I want AI to distribute content for me, using my manual writing as a source of truth.
This is a common use case and we have had our frustrations with AI ‘not sounding like us.’
So I upgraded my writing system with new files so it has the most important context. The output still needs 10% editing but it’s also 10x better than my previous system.
I use Claude projects for this system.
Knowledge in the Old System:
Content Library of all my content in multiple files
About me and the project’s motive
About ICP
This system was doing okay, but the best it could do was help me avoid repeating the context.
I want results beyond that. I want my AI to create valuable content while sounding like me.
So I added more files, but I made sure all of these files are under 10 instructions. I noticed the instructions that come later in a knowledge file get ignored. Plus I had the most important instructions at the top.
New System:

Why I chose to include these files:
CLAUDE.md: First thing Claude reads. It provides context on which file contains what information and what it needs to do first.
process.md: The first and most important step. It has a step-by-step process of how I choose topics, create content, edit, and approve it.
icp.md and about.md: Tells Claude about my work, our readers, and myself.
myvocab.md and notmyvocab.md: Phrases and words I often use and don’t use.
killaipatterns.md: Popular patterns that make most readers ask “Is this AI?” Like emdashes “—”
bestposts.md: Instead of adding all posts, I have added a few of my best-performing and best-written content
value.md: We can’t expect AI to create valuable content without defining what value means for our readers. I defined things like “Give actual stats over vague phrases”, “Always back a claim with a thesis, data, or quotes from authoritative sources in the space, etc.”
qualitycontrol.md: This is my editorial checklist. Claude goes through this checklist before and after writing the first draft. It has instructions like “remove filler phrases”, “Is this point supporting our core argument”, “Is the jargon addressed the first time”, etc.
If you ask me, the most important file is process.md. I always treat AI/agents like employees, so I give them the context I’d give a new hire.
process.md has step-by-step instructions on how we approach a problem, where AI does the work and where I am in the loop, what files and skills to call when, etc.
You don’t want your employees to have tools and get paralyzed by not knowing how to use them.
I tried to solve the uncertainty of when and how and I’m happy with the output so far.
Feel free to personalize this framework and see if it works for you!

How is the TMM community using AI?
This modern marketer has designed an email template using Claude Design:
I built this email design as an experiment to play with Claude’s new feature.
I made the design system and brand DNA doc. I’ve fed all colors, fonts, and product photos. Some assets were fetched by Claude itself.
I added good email design sense. Basically, email design guidelines. Then gave this prompt:
“Hey! I want you to create an educational email for an Atypical product. Follow the EmailRules.md file. I want this email to be educational and talk about the product’s benefits.”
It asked me a few questions regarding copy and messaging. Then it built the email with tweak options (This is really cool!)

It finally gave an editable Canva link. Make sure Claude is connected to the Canva connector.
It has a few export options: Claude code, Figma plugin, Canva plugin, PDF, PNG, PPTx plugin, etc.
Submit your use cases and get featured in front of 1700+ readers
Have a great week ahead!
